C'mon, what other car people ask how much something made out of Carbon fiber weighs? BMW/MB guys would buy carbon if it weighed 2 tons as long as it's carbon fibre but us lotus guys scoff at something that weighs 2 ounces more than stock. The Evo/STi guys like to race anything and everything because even though their cars are fast, they don't realize that it is still a Mitsu/Suby that they are driving. Every car brings a certain lifestyle as far as the niche cars go. Obviously if you drive a honda civic you aren't going to brag MPG to everyone but back to us Lotus guys, when was the last time you didn't reiterate the fact that our cars only weigh 2000 lbs to someone asking about the car? But as with everything, there are exceptions to the rules

Back on topic, I love the idea of the Ferrari Dino. So what if people think they are diluting the Ferrari brand. IF that were the case, many car companies would be out of business. Lotus for example. If they stuck to heritage, there would be no Espirit. Porsche would have no Cayenne or cabrios, and BMW would have no 7 series or X cars. People don't realize that car companies need to sort of spread their roots in order to stay in business. Hell if we were really uptight about the F-car and lotus brands, we wouldn't even have ANY to drive as they were only made into production cars to support their racing expenses.
so true, nicely said
