FWIW, I'd trade the first portions of Rt. 66 for the Gap any day - no question. The IL sections of Rt. 66 are just crappy through town highways nowadays.
Forget the dumpy run down unrecognizable great road from the past that no longer exists and go take your new supercar over to the greatest road that we currently have. You never know how long The Dragon will be there in all of it's glory, and what is the likelihood that you will ever be back there in that car?
