So that pretty much defines him as a Christian; i.e. someone who doesn't believe that Mohammed received the word of God. I'm sorry, I don't see why that's unusual... it's typical of most devout religious people to think that devout religious people of other faith are nuts. 
How can a religious person take their own religion seriously if they believe the contradictory assertions of other religions? Just one of the reasons I'm an atheist.
