Have you tried Etymonics "EtyPlugs" earplugs? I have used them at BW when on-track in my Exige and at the Long Beach GP as a spectator. They are comfortable, reasonably priced, and work well.

I have another brand of the same concept made for musicians. Cost twice as much . THese may work in the children's size when my ears swell up.
