It's possible that it might fit a small dia muffler. The angle of the u-bend pushed my can too far towards the rear of the car. Makes sense?

yup that makes sense. Did you guys use the solid brackets that hold the two pieces of the header together? I am using springs and hoping that might give me enough play.
