Thanks, Jack! I've heard the opposite to the LSD. The plate type was developed originally for FWD cars and may be good for autocross but not high speed road courses. The O/M for the 2-Eleven only mentions the optional "Torsen" type LSD. The optional accessories dealer manual, however, mentions both. I've already sent my feelings on the variable LTC to the dealer and Lotus USA. I should have mentioned it to Roger Becker while he was at the track. I'm currently waiting for answers. The guys at Auto Europe (Detroit) have been real successful in installing the "Torsen" type on Elise/Exiges. They received this info from the UK. BTW, Roger also mentioned that the 2-Eleven should not be shod with slicks without converting it to dry sump. Apparently long left handers will exceed the two liter capacity of the Accusump.
