I never thought Lotus owners would look down on an S2000 in such a way. We have quite a few people who moved onto Lotus and had no regret but would never say S2000 is for posers .

It's a comparison based on opinion, 'each to their own' and everything. I LOVED the S2000 before I drove it, it looks better than the Elise (IMO), it is more comfortable than the Elise (IMO), and is a better day-to-day car than the Elise (IMO), but for what I want it doesn't come close to the Elise. I don't think (IMO) that you can consider an S2000 a track worthy car. It's a RWD road car, a mid-range roadster for people who like the power at the back but don't like to sacrifice little luxuries like air-con and power steering (IMO). As I said, the reason I didn't opt for the Honda is because you have to thrash the nuts off it to bring a smile to your face, the Lotus does that by default. Give me an S2000 with the power band and road handling of an Elise and I would buy one.
