Got them installed last night in about 90 minutes with a beer break.
The only difficult part was rethreading the dual top mounted side bolts on the rear mount (the ones that go directly into the subframe). If it wasn't for them it would have taken 15 minutes off my installation time.
I also noted that some of the inside rubber on the right hand side of my rear mount was melted - probably due to the proximity of the FF street header collector... I had to remove the heat shield during installation two years ago or it would have had contact.
For the first time I also left the undertray and diffuser connected together and removed/reinstalled it as a single piece. It was MUCH easier.
NVH Impressions:
- At startup/idle the entire car has a new very very subtle vibration. I LIKE IT.
- The side and rearview mirrors barely, barely vibrate. You really have to look for it though.
- It's like having a massage chair set to low while it warms up. It's gone when idle settles at 850rpm. I like it!
- It's not any louder at all - but it's revealed a couple of rattling plastic pieces in the panel behind the seats.
- I've had to change the order of my keys - I currently have the FOB, key, fuel key and trunk key on my chain. They were jingling softly when just sitting there until I moved a couple around.
Driving impressions:
- You CANNOT sense any vibration while in motion/cruise. No mirror vibration at all.
- The torque "application" when you quickly apply/remove throttle is INSTANTANEOUS!
- High rpm shifting is 2x crisper and more precise... I really really like it!!! I bet a bunch of the sloppy shifting in the past year was due to the sloppy/loose rear mount...
- My FF street header "donut" connection to the exhaust does NOT shift under load anymore. I'm sure that it was the cause of a bunch of my drone/loudness as it peeked opened/closed while the engine shifted. I guess it actually makes my car "quieter!"
I rate it a 4 as well on the NVH scale.
My wife and I are going out to celebrate our 7th anniversary on Saturday night - that'll be the test!
Anyway HIGHLY recommended!
