This story starts in August, the week before Monterey weekend. The Elan was all set to drive up to Monterey, and the rear suspension was rebuilt. But dad felt a vibration ( you know what that means). Turns out there was some slop in one of the universal joints so dad reluctantly took the BMW 1600 Cabriolet instead

. Anyways, after we got back from Monterey we pulled the driveshaft out, sent it out to get balanced and etc, put in a new trans seal, yesterday the driveshaft went back in (with a new input shaft), and today the rear suspension and donut were put back together. The end result: One happy dad.
And thus ends the story of the original unrestored Elan that my dad has owned for over 20 years.
