I'd agree that while extensions were once useful in helping the mechanic on a shoestring budget to get more range from his torque wrench, today's low prices make extensions not worthwhile. For example, I got my
new Precision Instmts (same as Snap-On) 50-150# 1/2" drive on eBay for $52 shipped.
Not to beat a dead horse, but sometimes the use of a crow-foot can't be avoided, so it's good to have the formula available. (I keep meaning to measure the effective length of my wrenches at various settings so I can make a quick spreadsheet grid for each [crow-foot size/desired torque] to print out and laminate).
