Thanks for the response -- I'm a software engineer so Hex files are second nature to me -- just a representation of binary 1 and 0's which is ultimately what all transistor based digital electronics deal with...now organic electronics is really cool stuff, but that's for a different discussion entirely

Back to firmware updates ... how do us EFI owners actually get these files and the software that can flash the firmware (aka send the binary data to the CMOS or whatever non-volatile memory is used)? Will they be made available on a web site, direct request, or what?
