for what its worth - my 4.5lb battery has been in for over 6 months and never any porblem - even sitting for 2 weeks (but in the garage with no alarm, and ~60 deg.) it starts the HID's with out the engine running as well.

custom fitfan voltphreaks bracket
for a great solution to mount it.
