"I hope you can answer some questions. I saw your center gauge write-up and found that you have a DashDAQ and an Innovate LC-1. I have a BWR supercharger and want to monitor AFR with a wideband O2 sensor, and just in case, record the values as well as other system vitals that may be available through the ODBII port. DashDAQ and the LC-1 looked to be the trick and I wanted to know your opinion about the combination.
I called innovate motorsports and saw they have a DashDAQ + LC-1 bundle for $699. Which is a better priced combo than I've seen anywhere. Here's the link. Innovate Motor Sports On-Line Store
Apparently you just weld the bung, run the cable, and plug it in directly.
I am curious about how you ran the cable. Center tunnel or along the side? I believe I would like to mount the system under or beside the A/C, so I just need to get it near the ODBII port. I've not run anything through the firewall yet. Does it require seat removal?
I noticed you opted for more physical gauges. Have you found this to be a useless toy? I think mounting it as you have (right of A/c) only begs for a single new A/C and DashDAQ cover plate to be created. A single cover for both units would make it look somewhat factory.
Are you happy with the software? Are system data and graphs easy to upload and review on a computer? Is there enough capability to review the charts history on the fly with the unit?
I am about to pull the trigger on the purchase, and really wanted to know your opinions."

Ok if you want to monitor and record your wide band O2, then using OBDII is not the way to go. In my setup, the DashDaq is not getting the Wide Band readings from the OBDII port. There is a separate input for the Innovate MTS chain into the DashDaq. Also if you are just interested in logging the O2, then all you need to do is hook up a laptop computer to the Innovate MTS chain. You will not need the DashDaq. Also I believe Innovate does make a unit that will log the O2 for you . I think it’s called the DL32.
I ran the cable for the Innovate MTS chain up through the hole in the fire wall for the emergency break cable. Then under the center console to my gauges. And yes I highly recommend removing the seat.
I picked up the DashDaq on a whim because they promised GPS, and Charlie was going to make specialized software for it. Well the GPS software was supposed to be released in April of 2008, but it is still not there. Also I believe Charlie had a falling out with the DashDaq people and will not be using there hardware. It is a cool device, and I got it so that I could monitor and log the OBDII. I discovered that Charlie’s tune is absolutely solid and really I have not used it much at all now. However, when I finally get some free time, I will write my own software for the DashDaq.
As for my gauges on the center console. I look at those all the time. It is nice seeing how much boost and my O2 values along with my water injection flow. If I was to do it all over again, I would still place those 3 gauges there, but probably would have opted for something other than the DashDaq.
Hope that helps.
