no, he probably caught the headlight assembly which is reflective enough to allow a lock with lidar. still its *very* difficult to tag the front of an elise with LIDAR so hats off to the cop, perhaps his lucky day. Another thing to consider is that if they dont lock on the front they can always wait for you to pass and tag the rear plate which works equally as well.. its not taught as much in training but it does work.
