As far as I can see you are not screwed. If you truly have an e-mail that says the above, sue them in small claims court, they will have an agent for service in your state, check with your state's business portal web site. There's a cost for them to send an employee to fight you in court. They will absolutely settle with you for that cost. But, what do they say in court. "Yes, we sent him a confirmation that we recieved the money, but we really didn't." "Yes, we told him to ship the order, but we really didn't mean "SHIP" the order." You tell me if there's any story your LOCAL court will believe that goes contrary to your e-mail. I think you have a slam dunk here.
