Question Why did Lotus design the Passenger Seat to not adjust?

I find it rather annoying that the passenger seats cannot be adjusted forward/back the same way as the driver side. The trajectory of how the passenger airbag is deployed pending on a specific distance could a possible safety concern why the seating position is fixed. Thats understandable, but you can always adjust the seat all the way back when the passenger is in the car and still allow having the option to slide the seat back and forth when the passenger seat is not occupied.

At the moment, I'm seriously thinking about buying the sliders that goes on the left hand driver seat rails and put them on the passenger side. The passenger seat rails are also bolted down using a different bolt than the driver side. I personally find it much easier to remove the driver seats since ratchet tools are much comfortable to use in tight spaces, especially when trying to loosening the over torqued bolts.

Any warnings or possible negative impacts for doing so? If there are any reason why I should not do this, please don't hesitate to explain.
