pillaged my first couple towns today... That's pretty exciting.

(do you guys blockade the harbor first, then time the pillage to occur a few minutes after the harbor blockade?)

Of course once I won, I got back and started beefing up defenses... But then realized phalanxes, ships, etc cost a lot to keep up... Anyone got a good idea as to how to get more money in the game?

PS: What's the benefit of an alliance? And how do I initiate trade treaties?
