questions that I overlooked on my test drive
I'm seriously considering an Elise and I have taken one for a test drive, but I was enjoying the drive a little too much and forgot about some things.
- I also drove an S2000, with crazy short gears, so it was turning 4000rpm at 75mph/120kmh in 6th - I think it would be annoying for a normal commute. I don't remember the Elise being so short geared, or as noisy (tiring noise vs good noise), but can you tell me the revs at this speed in 6th?
- the hardtop... anywhere to stow it? Or does that stay in the garage and you just use the soft top on those in-between days.
- heater... I'm planning on using the car for 3 1/2 seasons: spring, summer, fall, and nice days in the winter. Does it have a good heating system/ windshield defroster?
- grit, road salt... I am hoping to use it through some of the winter, but there's a lot of salt on the roads here in Toronto. How does the paint hold up to this and are there any sections not protected by the starshield? My old Talon was pock-marked in the first few months and had to live the rest of its life with a bra for protection.
