I can't comment on the Mocal portion, I've only seen their oil-air heat exchangers. There's one on my Alfa race car right now.

The water to oil heat exchanger is plumbed into the system via the send and return lines to the heater core. This is heated water, but still cools the oil adequately even in brutal track conditions. In a perfect world, you would plumb cooled water from the return side of the radiator but with the ports staring right at you from the engine block, this seemed so very elegant and easy. The cooling is more efficient than the original oil-air heat exchanger and eliminated some 30 feet of rubber, (as in: not braided), oil lines going back and forth between the engine and the front of the car.

The unit we used on the CFS1 was made by Fluidyne.
