The ground is on the front(firewall) side of the tranny. If you are going for it from the top, the intake tube will be in the way. It is probably easier to drop the mid pan...then you can't miss it. It's a large braided metal cable with a 17mm bolt holding it on the trany case and a 13mm nut holding it to the ground junction on the firewall. I would also check the battery cable at the starter...12mm nut to verify that it is tight.
