Post HOD HPDE recap...
- I was happy to finally meet Steve (Levin) plus Dave (Steve's lone crewman?) and the awesome black shepherd/lab (whose name I forgot).
- My desnorkled car passes sound uneventfully. Loki's car broke sound by a mere 1.5 DB, but it was enough to ground him. What a PITA! Damn hill people and their fancy houses.
- A ****eload of traffic in the morning sessions. Not just "not a single clean lap," but laps clogged to the brim with stacked cars.
- Going out first in the afternoon sessions, I found clear track. Was able to beat my previous Laguna best by three seconds. I don't know what the hell kind of corner I've turned in the last few track days, but I've turned it. I think if I had a full day of open laps, 5 seconds faster would have been possible, because I felt I was still pussyfooting around. Robbie, it's time for some help. ;-)
- The double-apex at turn 2 is so incredibly effective. Later braking, perfect for trail-braking. I had two guys come up to me commenting on my entry to turn 2. All because they were braking a few markers earlier for their single apex while I was diving deeper.
Fun times... wish it wasn't winter.
Nick: let's do some Barber soon.
Robbie, let's get an all Lotus day set up for next year...
