Getting it off was easy. It was feeling like I had accurate enough measurements without ripping off all the felt that was difficult. Who places bolt holes 3 and 15/16" apart? I measured with 3 different calipers 4 times each to be sure that I was getting that right. What about 4"? Makes more sense to me

. No flat surfaces and tight clearances made angle measurements a little more tricky as well.
Oh, my "fettled" area extends for the most part about 3/4" from the front edge towards the bolts.
