Getting it off was easy. It was feeling like I had accurate enough measurements without ripping off all the felt that was difficult. Who places bolt holes 3 and 15/16" apart? I measured with 3 different calipers 4 times each to be sure that I was getting that right. What about 4"? Makes more sense to me . No flat surfaces and tight clearances made angle measurements a little more tricky as well.

You forget the rest of the world uses the metric system.
1" is 2.5399cm's so it comes out to be almost exactly 10cm's
