Unfortunately, you can't exactly walk into a showroom and specify what kind of Elan you want, so sometimes you have to take what you can get.
I didn't go out seeking a specific Elan ( actually, I really wanted a Caterham at the time), mine kind of just "fell into my lap", didn't have much choice about the windows, so I removed them
