Anyone using the EFI ECU + EFI Dash Display

Starting to get my brain wrapped around tuning and these questions came up:

1. Is anyone using the EFI Dash Display?
2. Could some of the Spare Analog Inputs on the EFI ECU be used to monitor Oil Temp, EGT, or other characteristics not already monitored by the EFI ECU for the purposes of engine protection and to send to the Dash Display?

I don't like the idea of throwing in a few analog gauges, and it seems like using the EFI Dash Display helps keep the interior clean and since the data is coming from the EFI ECU, you'd get the added benefit of ECU monitoring of those variables. In the case of Oil Temp, maybe you could prevent engaging high lift cam until Oil reaches a certain value? And, you would be able to see that data over time if you took advantage of the 1MB data logging feature in the ECU.

I'm very much a newb, and these seem like newb questions to me, but I didn't find much when searching. Apologies if it's been covered and I missed it.
