I am not sure about the spring mounts being different on the front between our years. I do know that the 85 front suspension bits resemble the Toyota as they use those brakes, etc, and the earlier Esprit more resembles the Elite(or Elan?) in the linking details.
I do, however think that the same coil over springs would work just fine. Even if they have to make a different mounting bracket/bolt at the top/bottom, it still should be basically the same. I know Adler charged $260 for the entire assembly new, including springs, and they had all kinds of spring rates to chose from.
If anyone else has more info on what bits are different between the 83 and 85 years chime in!
