Seriously seriously. The initial assumption is what is the current reality - period. And you do realize that you just admitted that the technology is not commerically/economically viable at this time, don't you? (You also said it's 'novel'.) You can't equalize the playing field by denying what is the reality. If you'd like, I can show you how long the break-even is on a Prius vs, say, a Honda Fit.

At this juncture, I'd doubt it's worth it, though.
