I had a bit of a rare opportunity a couple of days ago.
My boss got his hands on a Tesla for 24 hours. We took pics with my Elise.
Went for a ride back to back. Twisties on the Bronx River Parkway (best we could do near our White Plains office)
The Tesla's torque from the electric motor is unreal, but the Elise is much better balanced. And keeps up very well with the Tesla. His comment after driving both back to back the first time (he is a Porsche guy through the years, so there is some sportscar familiarity): I like the Elise better. Better balanced and comparable pull after 60. Better brakes too. I agree.
After 20 minutes (or less) of play, the Tesla range dropped from 100 miles to 60.
So we are getting closer with electric cars approaching eye candy and fun, but not fully useable yet. Also weird to hear nothing but the hum of a motor and the A048s.
Pics attached for your enjoyment. BTW- I found lots of humor in the Tesla's BRG and classic yellow racing stripe provided by it's plug/cord >>>wonder if Colin is spinning in the grave or not.
