Definately be friends - lotus are very clever with their relationships so any Tesla sale boost Lotus's funds to make the cars we love.
For example - every porsche sold (not sure if the contract is still running) had to pay Lotus for the variable valve work commissioned by Porsche.
I always like this Lotus/GM car - shame it was only a prototype
