#1. Tesla hired Lotus as a vendor, just like they hired any other company to supply any other part(s). As long as Tesla paid for the work, they can call it theirs. We all know where it comes from.

#2. Whether or not you should be friends with somebody shouldn't be based on what car they own. Sure, I've met many new friends because we have a Lotus in common, but that's not why we're friends.
