Thanks for all the good info. I am going to go in through light switch panel, try to pull some foam, and see what I see. If the CDL unit is below and slightly right of the air duct (my impression, from your description), I should be able to see it from underneath. How hard was it to remove the harness? Did it just unplug, or were there clips, etc.? I know it won't be possible to get more than one hand in there so doing anything tricky is going to be tough.
