I have just started looking into the Lotus family of cars.

First thing I would say is make sure you are comfortable getting in and out of the car. I drove an Elise SC and the engine noise was not that bad. That being said, if you don't want to here the noise, you probably wont like the way the car drives. It is an experience and the noise and feel are part of that.

For me, this car is about stress relief. Not going out and driving fast, just going out and being in touch with the car. The sound and feel is what makes that a reality.

As far as the traction control. From what I have gathered, the traction control is not what you would expect from an everyday car. It only kicks in when you are really pushing the car. Sounds like this would help if you were on wet roads, but unless you are going to take the car to the track and push it hard, I don't think it is necessary for this car.

Again, I am very new to Lotus. If I am way off base, I hope someone will correct me.
