Hi Ben,
I hold my arms mostly at the 3 and 9 positions (as on a clock), with my elbows down and I have no problem seeing the gauge cluster.
I do have to take my eyes off the road, but I have to do the same when looking at the main gauges.
When changing gears, I have to take my hand off the wheel, so that's also a good time for a quick glance as nothing is blocking my line of sight.
Since I know where the readings on the gauges should be, I'm only looking for a reference point as indicated by the bright red needle. Very easy and fast to pick up at a glance.
After several weeks with the gauges, I wish I had put them in earlier.
Regards,
Wayne
