The s1 or s2 are just series designations denoting a design change. That is why there are kits for the s1 it is an older model that had a crappy Rover motor (it was not sold in the US). The chassis however is a bit better on the S1 as it is not cut down to allow "lazy fat Americans" as they see it into our cars. My view is that you are on the correct path. Reduce the weight of your car and you will be shocked at the transformation in performance. Take a look at the Rotrex blower it is a perfect match for this car as torque builds, the power is linear, low heat, light weight etc. As was mentioned, a built 2zz is a much cheaper option and Ronin (a former member of Lotustalk) has done a great job putting a package together that solves the many problems that plague this motor. However, we have some more power to be gained and can easily hit the 500 mark with only 14 pounds of boost so I am with you on Honda power. You don't see many folks swapping 2zz's whereas Honda engines power Radicals, Atoms etc., etc., As the s2's become cheaper (given the availability of a reasonably priced kit) I think there will be a lot of folks looking to switch but this is just an opinion.

Let me know what you decide-

Cheers
i guess i just gotta play the waiting game
