The useful life of the Lithium -ion battery is dependent on many conditions before they reach the threshold of around 80% capacity where they may need to be replaced. These conditions are for example, the number of recharge cycles(cycle life), time (calendar life), temperature & humidity. I have seen as 5 years as being a typical lifespan, but of course this is highly variable.
