The XB12 series have been my favorite as well, cool bike you got there. Pricing up here has been similar to what you mentioned, the more expensive/advanced 1125r/1125cr are actually priced less than the "inferior" XB12 bikes. Our local dealer has a low mileage '07 XB12ss for $6500, $1500 more than a brand new R or CR.

The 1125r is really tough on the eyes though. Yeah, on paper and in the saddle it's better in every way. It's got liquid cooling, superior airflow management, 50 more horsepower produced by a far more advanced Rotax motor etc...
At some point however, you are going to have to get off the bike and look at it. Don't get me wrong, I've seen uglier bikes but the 1125r is (IMHO) the one unattractive Buell. The 1125cr however a huge improvement (again, IMHO)visually over the 1125r, yet it still retains all the virtues. Seeing these bikes in person, the radiator pods grow on you rather quickly without the goofy looking nosecone on the R. As fun as it is to ride, we all want our machines to look good too.

If I decide to step up to the plate and get one, it would still likely be one of the XB12's. I like to think of it much the same way as an older air cooled Porsche vs. a new liquid cooled one, yeah the new one is better but it sort of looses that special "something" that makes them so special/unique.

Great looking bike you have there, now go get her broken in!
