It appears they may be friends, they members of a track club and this is one of a couple of laps they battled on. Can't say whether the Pcar driver backed off or not, it sure looked like he was trying to the end though

I am not sure I would say the Cat driver is driving over his head, the only moments he really had was when the car got light over crests, had he been in a heavier car, with a longer wheelbase, and better aerodynamics, that wouldn't have happened.
The Seven was not designed to go those speeds, it has the aero of a brick and it is a very twitchy car (which is why it is so fun to drive), that car was a handful to drive that fast, if anything he's got some great skills IMO.

I should hope so considering the GT2 produces downforce, has a much higher top speed, and is much easier to drive at those kinds of speeds
