another idea

On my last car, a twin turbo Mazda RX-7 that saw regular autocross and track use, I used another method to paint the calipers that cost me about $10 and lasted the better part of four years.

Testor's model paint - the same stuff you used as a kid - actually holds up very well even to high heat applications like brakes. I did my calipers in black with white "MAZDA" lettering, and I only touched them up once in all those years. Despite being brushed on, they looked great! Very easy to do even with the calipers on the car, the painting itself just takes a little longer that way.
