I have it clipped to edge of the center storage bin between the seats so it hangs down right above the front of the power outlet. There are many brands and sizes of remotes so it may not work for everyone. I have the small Genie remote with one button that about 4 inches long and 2 inches wide

I wrapped the fuzzy side of some velco tape around the clip on the remote so that it doesnt scratch anything. Only problem is that in my other car it is clipped to the visor and works from about 50 feet away. Since it is so much lower in the Elise and since it points up instead of out the range is only about 20 feet.

I can also clip it to the inside of the small metal cubbyhole that is to the left of the steering wheel, since the velcro prevents scratching.
