If what was said about the surge being the same for either kit, then there really are no implications. The stock wiring can support at least 50 watts since that's the wattage of the stock bulbs. If the spike is really short (and I think it is), then it wouldn't be enough to worry about. Again, I'll send it to someone to test but I haven't had any issues with running the 35 watt setup in my Elise. Of course, I went to drive the car tonight (gotta pack in the miles while it's still somewhat nice out) and the battery (Odyssey 640) was not strong enough to turn over the engine
