i like shooting in tight spaces for that reason - little or no light coming from the sides adds some drama i think.
the close-up wide angle profile shot earlier is in black and white because the the orange bricks on the side of the road i was shooting from were reflecting in the car giving the car a cast.
so B&W was the easiest way out of it.
