PICTURES - rear chasis brace kit install - LOTAC05377
Ok there's been many posts about the need for the lotus track use chasis brace kit, but not many photo's. The merits (or lack there of) have been discussed at length but I thought I'd post some photos from my install of the original lotus kit part number - LOTAC05377. I bought the kit from South Bay Lotus right after the WCLM track day where Marcw's stock toe link bolt failed, the price was $835.58, ouch! I had the rear of the car appart to install my new Larini exhaust so access was easy. Nothing to hard about the install other than the usual trouble of trying to decipher the Queen's English instructions. I now know what a "subframe plinth" is though. It's tough being a ruffian from the continent intrusted with the care of this beautiful machine. All I need now is a rear end alignment and I'm ready to roll. One more thing here's the tourque specs converted as well, 50NM = 36.88 ft/lbs, and 45NM = 33.19 ft/lbs. Hope you find the photo's helpful:
1) The Full Kit (minus the new sperical joints) Loosely assembled off the car
2) New Sperical Joint attached to toe link
3) Cross Brace Mounting Point on Bottom of Engine Mount (the mythical subframe plinth)
4) Right Hand Side Loosely Assembled
5) Left Hand Side Loosely Assembled
6) Crossbrace Mounting Point loosely fit (i.e. finger tight not torqued yet)
7) Full Deal Before Being Torqued Down
