Next time, take the wheels off and let them mount the tires and balance them and then give you the wheels back which is what I always did with my car which is my sweat and blood. I think I am going to go buy a Veyron and take it in to Jiffy Lube for a friction reline...

Qball's FIL manages the shop; where would you expect him to take it. ALL THEY DO ALL DAY is lift cars and mount tires. It's their business and I can't imagine they've never mounted tires on a mid/rear engined car before. Showing them the jackpoints should have been enough. Sorry, but this is not rocket science here. I've never seen this happen to an Elise/Exige before and considering most dealerships don;t do mounting/balancing, the work is usually farmed out.
The name of the mechanic comment and the Veyron comparison are absurd beyond comment.
