Hockey pucks are your friends! Lots of guys on the Speedster forums take their own hockey pucks with them to the shop to make sure the lift loads are transferred correctly (and only) to the underlying structure and / or this little spacer.
But then we're back at the same problem, I guess. If you can't trust Joe Mechanic to use the right lifting point, can you trust him to use the hockey pucks?
