How Quick? What is the 0-60 times?
Keep in mind that the Elise is a car built for handling, it's ability to carve the streets. Straight ahead speed is not it's main feature. You can buy far cheaper cars with much larger engines to go fast in a straight line.
But the Elise can carry that speed around the corner and outbrake the heavier front engined car. 
The US Elise with a Sport Package is reported to do 0-60 in 4.7 seconds and as low as 4.4 seconds with an 8k+rpm clutch dump.
