I cleaned the glass and cup surfaces with Invisible Glass before mounting, and mine held for about 2 months in a daily driver with the top off regularly. Right near the end I could see and hear a bit of vibration, and finally it dropped off last weekend while I was on my way to a meet -- which was perfect timing since I'd planned to take it off and clean it at the meet anyway
. Cleaned everything, stuck it back on, no problem.
It's definitely held up better in this heat than my Garmin mount on the windshield, and that one even has a lever to increase suction.
