Inspired by
JLElise's
post on a gas bib, and not happy with
pianomaniac's solution of using paper towels, I searched around ET and found one other
thread that was only okay. $20 + shipping? That's too much. So I decided to go to the hardware store and make my own for $6.99.
Materials needed:
- black cabinet liner
- scissors
- your fingernail
Step 1: Go to the hardware store and buy a roll of black cabinet liner.
Step 2: Roll-out the liner and cut to the desired width. I like to have the curl go into the car to match the contours around the gas cap.
Step 3: Try to feel where the gas cap is and draw a circle with your fingernail. Then cut out a hole, making rectangular spaces on the left and right for the handle and hinge.
Step 4: Accessories and add a little pizazz with matching rubber gloves for fueling.
Step 5: Roll-up the gas bib and stick it behind the passenger seat in the corner.
Step 6: Fuel.
