I have only had my passenger seat out once and I never looked closely at the mounting rails, but it would seem to me that one piece rails on each side would be the way to go. They would make the seat to floor assembly much stronger in the event of an accident and even out the stress to the floor to rail mounts. Do you have a photo of the underside of the removed passenger seat and rails? I could help you design some new rails and even make them for you on my milling machine.
