Removed Carpeting & Sound Deadening Foam

Another day off of work = Another excuse to work on my car.

Today's objectives:
  • Remove carpeting.
  • Remove sound deadening foam.
  • Replace interior bulb with an LED one.
  • Clean & vacuum what's left.
First thing I did was gather my tools together and started by removing the seats. Pretty simple & straight forward, no more than 5 minutes per seat. 13mm socket for the front 2 bolts of the driver's seat, 6mm allen wrench for the back 2 bolts and for all 4 of the passenger's seat bolts. The rear plastic panel was next. It didn't feel like it was gonna budge so I unbolted the passenger seat belt which made it easier to pull the panel off. Now you can see where all that foam is hiding.

It really is a thick piece of foam and definitely has some weight to it.

Once the interior was stripped & cleaned I piled up the foam with all the carpeting. I'm guessing it was close to 10lbs for everything.

Now my seats sit on bare aluminum which looks a lot cleaner IMO. I'll go for a drive tomorrow and I'm hoping it's even louder inside.

The power connector for the light is a pain to get off but after pulling real hard it eventually popped off. Replacing the bulb took seconds. Now that damn light is actually useful in the dark.
