Well, call it an hour with a beer break.
Saikou Michi Company made me a custom dual catch can setup. They can make you the same in just a few days...email them and ask for Dave's Lotus setup. He responds to emails fast, and is a nice guy. Want better news?
-The dual setup kit (
DC3) is only $120 configured any way you like.
-It's a
high quality piece, with internal stainless mesh, and an easy drain petcock.
-With it's conservative size, you don't need to do any major modifications or move/remove the washer reservoir.
-You can can reuse the OE vent hoses and don't need to add splices anywhere.
I mounted the can kit on the boot bulkhead with a single screw through the top lip. Between that and the four hoses, it's not going anywhere. It comes with a couple mounting brackets which could easily be adapted for a different mount.
Then in a nutshell, remove the hoses from the engine...you can leave attached to TB. Get rid of the foam sleeves while you're at it. Trim about 2 inches from the PCV end, then attach to the can output. The larger hose will attach directly and doesn't need cut.
I didn't buy the hose kit they sell because I'm not much for that clear hose...looks nasty after the blow gets to it. So I picked up some 1/2" and 9/32" black rubber hose from Autozone...a foot each is more than enough. Some stainless clamps and away you go.
